Tool Order Process

The lead time for the tool is 11 weeks out of RGE Tooling in China and additional 6-8 weeks delivery time from approval of T1 samples.

The time of delivery is given subject to being able to receive the necessary materials in sufficient time to enable us to complete within the time specified. All quotations are subject to acceptance within 30 days from date, unless specifically stated otherwise.

Orders will only be accepted on the understanding that, if during the period between date of tender and completion or order any National Wages increase in the Engineering Industry takes place, and/or increases in costs of materials, the contract price will be increased accordingly. This will apply to any undelivered portion of the order at the time of the Advance.

All contracts are entered into, and all orders are accepted by R.G.E Engineering Co., free from all liability for non-fulfilment, or for any delay caused by “Force Majeure”, War, Strikes, Lockouts, Fires or scarcity of Material or through or through temporary withdrawal of railway or other carrying facilities, which prevent or delay the manufacture or delivery of goods. We are not held responsible for the consequences of late delivery. Our terms of payment are net cash in the month following that in which delivery takes place.

Typical Tool Process

1. Receive PO from customer

2. RGE sends invoice

3. RGE starts tool design, can take up to 3w

4. RGE receives funds from customer. RGE can order steel if funds received and design frozen

5. Tool GA approved, customer input required

6. Tool lead time stated on quotation from Tool GA approval to first T1 sample from tool. Lead time is exclusive of public holidays which will add to lead time if tool production coincides.

7. Lead time maintained if no design revisions made.

8. Next payment due at T1 for work done.

9. T1 is first test of tool without final texture/polish or component markings in locally sourced material. Explicit test material and colours is a billable cost.

10. Allow transport time for T1 samples to UK. Sample quantity typically 5 moulding subject to overall size. Extra samples and trials are billable.

11. Final approval and full payment required prior to shipment of tool from Toolmakers. Balance on tooling required if approval process exceeds 3 months.

12. Shipping time determined on dispatch of tool. Typically 5w by sea from China and 1w every Friday overland from Portugal. Delays can be caused by weather and customs conditions.

General Order Information


All orders should either be emailed, faxed or phoned to your local rep or the RGE facility in your location. Phone orders must be confirmed by a written order (please mark the purchase order "CONFIRMATION"). Customer service is not responsible for order discrepancies on orders which are not confirmed in writing. Please include the following specifications with your purchase order:

  • Quantity
  • Catalog Part Number
  • Description
  • Approximate Shipping date required
  • Method of Transportation
  • Complete Bill to and ship to address
  • Purchase Order Number
  • Signature of person placing the order

    Payment terms
    Standard terms are NET 30 DAYS. Accounts past due subject to a late payment charge of 1% of outstanding balance per month or fraction thereof.

    Prices
    All prices are F.O.B. RGE local factory, unless otherwise confirmed in special quotation. We reserve the right to change the prices and specifications at any time without prior notice. With RGE's manufacturing operations and their strategic alliances with their suppliers, we can offer you top quality products at very competitive prices.

    Credit
    All orders are subject to credit approval prior to being accepted and processed. You will be notified by fax or telephone of any order(s) not being processed due to credit limit, outstanding invoices, etc.

    Order Acknowledgement
    All orders are acknowledged by fax or mail. Please review our acknowledgement for accuracy upon receipt and immediately notify customer service of any corrections or discrepancies to avoid incorrect shipments.

    Changes and Cancellations
    All acknowledged orders are considered firm. Orders may not be changed or canceled without RGE's consent. RGE will consent to a charge or cancellation on an order only with an additional charge for all costs involved, if any, in making the charge. Any order cancelled after shipment is subject to a 25% restocking charge.

    Shipment of Goods
    Shipments will be made "best way" unless carrier preference is indicated. RGE has contracts with major carriers for discounted rates and customers can take advantage of these discounts.

    Damages and Claims
    Merchandise is inspected and packaged in approved cartons before it leaves our warehouse. Should you receive any portion of the shipment in a damaged condition, either apparent or concealed, it is the duty of the consignee to accept the damaged goods and submit a claim with the delivering freight carrier to insure against loss. The freight carrier is responsible for the safe delivery of the goods from the time they accept the goods at our warehouse to the time of delivery.

    Returns
    If you desire to return an item(s) to the warehouse, please contact Customer Service to determine whether or not a valid reason exists for a return. Submit your invoice number relating to the merchandise in question. If Customer Service finds the reason to be within our guidelines, they will institute one or more of the following:
    1. Request an inspection by your local sales rep.
    2. Send a replacement part.
    3. Request item to be returned to the warehouse for repair and return or replacement. Customer Service will issue a RGA# (Return Goods Authorization Number). DO NOT return goods to the factory without a valid RGA, as these will be refused. DO NOT scrap goods without prior RGE USA approval.
    4. Returns for credit are subject to a 25% restocking fee to cover handling, inspecting and repacking in new cartons.
    All merchandise must be returned within 30 days of the issue date of the RGA to receive proper credit. All merchandise must be returned Freight Prepaid. Customer Service will issue credit including freight if Quality Control confirms that a factory responsible reason did exist as stated in the RGA. No deductions from payments to RGE USA may be made for returned merchandise until you are advised by RGE USA of the amount of credit due. No allowance shall be made for any outside labor for repairing our products without prior written approval.
    When authorization is received all merchandise returned must be properly packed in the original carton if possible or in a manner which avoids further damage. Discrepancies from this information listed in the RGA, missing parts, additional damage, signs of usage, may reduce the amount of credit given if any.

    Warranty
    RGE warrants its products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a maximum of 1 year. At our option, we will repair, replace, or provide a refund for any products which are returned to our factory at RGE's disrection and upon examination prove to be defective.
    This warranty does not apply to damage in-transit or occasioned by accident, negligence, improper assembly, abuse, or alteration.
    RGE USA makes no other warranty, either expressed or implied, as to any matter whatsoever, including the products merchantability or its fitness for any particular use or purpose. Under no circumstances shall RGE USA be liable for accidental or consequential damages.
