Meet the Team - Kate Athanasouli

Tell us a bit about yourself:
'I have always had a keen interest in design and technology. Ever since I was a kid, I remember trying to learn design programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator on my computer by watching tutorials on YouTube and trying to recreate what the people in these videos made. Later at school, I showed an interest in the arts. Although my first degree was engineering (as it was something my family and I wanted), once I finished my studies I pursued another degree in Fine Arts and Design. I graduated from Hanze University in the Netherlands with a degree in Product and Graphic Design two years ago. All of my interests are based on fields that can be easily combined – Marketing, Robotics, Engineering, and Design, and happily, my job allows me to combine all those.'

Describe your role at RGE:
'My role at RGE is challenging; although I am the Marketing Coordinator, I often do other things like Graphic Design, Website Design, Product Design, and more. Our team is dedicated to promoting and advertising RGE and spreading the word about the great job we do here, and our green and environmental focus.'

How long have you worked at RGE?
'I have been working at RGE for the past 9 months. I started my job in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic which made the job a little more challenging. Since everyone was working from home, it was hard as I didn't know most of the people, something that is essential for my work. Thankfully, everyone was very helpful and supportive of me, helping me adapt easily. Of course, I can't wait for all of us to be back at the office and meet officially in person.'

What is an interesting fact about yourself?
'I like working in different fields that require me to combine my knowledge. I can never settle for something simple, the more complicated and challenging a task is the better. And this is one of the reasons I enjoy working at RGE, because I can challenge myself and go after complicated tasks that help me to sharpen my skills.'

What do you enjoy doing when you're not working?
'When I am not working, I enjoy reading science fiction books, going for walks, meeting friends, taking part in sports, and travel. I am also a figurine collector, and my all-time favorite hobby is playing video games. As I mentioned before, I like a challenge and there is nothing more challenging than playing video games with people you don't know from all over the world. I like video games because of all of the different stories to follow and the different characters you can play and be. I have been playing since I was 3 and I don't see myself stopping any time soon!'

What is your favourite RGE product?
'I have few products I really like, but if I had to choose just one that would be the MultiNest Home. I find it really interesting how a product originally made for factories and garage usage can fit so nicely inside a house. You can store everything from toys to tools and it will literally fit everywhere without looking strange in the room you store it.'
