Printing and Labelling

Adding printed graphics, logos, text, or labels to plastic components enhances branding, usability, traceability, and compliance. RGE Group are able offer a range of printing and labelling solutions tailored to the specific materials, shapes, and functional requirements of injection moulded parts.

Printing and labelling has a variety of uses within the plastics industry. Logos, slogans, and corporate colours can be used to enhance branding and recognisability, making products instantly recognisable. Product information, such as part numbers, instructions, and safety markings can be clearly and cleanly applied, as well as CE markings, recycling symbols, or regulatory labels. RGE are also capable of printing button labels, indicators, or control panel markings, which are particularly useful during the production of white goods. Batch numbers, barcodes, and QR codes can also be added to individual parts and products to allow them to be easily identified and traced.

Pad Printing

Computer Controlled Pad Printing (Tampo Printing) is best for small to medium sized parts, with curved, textured, or irregular surfaces. Pad printing is used to print high detailed markings and graphics using a silicone pad, that transfers ink from an etched plate to the part. It allows for multicolour printing and fine text. The set up is quick, and this is an ideal application for high volume runs.

Hot Stamping (Foil Printing)

For decorative finishes and a metallic effect, hot foil blocking is most effective. A heated die presses a foil into the plastic surface, bonding the colour or metallic layer, usually carried out during the cooling cycle of the plastic injection moulding process. This produces a print that has a premium appearance with no drying time, and is resistant to wear. This is ideal for company logos or product markings that will be exposed to more robust external applications.

Adhesive Labels

Custom printed labels can be applied after moulding. They are often used to apply branding, barcodes, variable serial numbers, and safety information to a finished product. This application is also suitable for small batches, and RGE Group offer the automatic application of self-adhesive labelling to products produced at the same site, offering finished solutions ready for the customer, all in one place.

Quality Control

Whether it be the parts we produce or the service we provide – quality matters. Our team will work with you to understand the quality requirements of your mould tool and end product.

RGE pioneered use of the award-winning ThingTrax machine monitoring system - used to monitor the efficiency of our factories. Our QC team carry out pre-production tests on the raw material using Melt Flow Index (MFI) equipment to ensure it meets the requirements for the job. Tests carried out on mouldings throughout the production run include checks on the colour using a Spectrophotometer or Lightbox, as well as ensuring the parts measure within the agreed tolerances using a Co-Ordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). Learn more here

RGE is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 across our UK and Europe sites.
