Last Friday saw a double celebration for RGE’s
longest serving employee, Ken Dodson. For not only was Ken (right of image) celebrating a milestone of 42 years service working at RGE, he was also celebrating his own independence from the world of work by retiring on the 4th July, the same day he started his career with RGE.
1972 was a big year for Ken Dodson a new wife, a new house and on 4th July 1972 he joined a small plastic toolmaker and
injection moulding firm called RGE Engineering. Ken, a skilled tooling draughtsman, was soon put to work on the many toolmaking projects that RGE was involved with at the time. Throughout his career Ken worked in every area of the business from Production Manager in the original moulding site at Godmanchester to supporting the start up of operations in Tennessee that became RGE USA inc. More recently Ken had helped out with projects in RGE’s Chinese production sites, running the mouldshop in Shenzhen and working on specific client projects in the RGE Chinese toolmaking facility.
We wish Ken all the best in his well deserved respite, from all of us at RGE. Ken was given a full send off last Friday with a presentation of photos and stories from
his colourful 42 years at RGE. We wish him all the best in his retirement and hope the garage gets completed on time and to budget!
On behalf of all at RGE, Thank You.
